*Tickets can be purchased at the door* On September 16, 1914 the steamer Francis H. Leggett left Grays Harbor in Washington, bound for San Francisco. She carried 37 passengers, 25 Crewmen, and an overload of railway ties. Once at sea, the ship felt the full brunt of a 60-mile-per-hour gale. The railway ties on the deck shifted when just off the north Oregon coast. Then great waves caused the ship to list. Water began filling the Leggett. Just two days after leaving Grays Harbor, the ship was in deep trouble. Come hear the tragic story of this event, much of which is still unknown nearly 112 years later, it is known as the deadliest shipwreck on the Oregon coast.
